Teaching & Learning - Resource Centre

Trinity Gardens School is fortunate to have a wonderful Resource Centre which is the central hub of the school. Students have the opportunity to choose from an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as access to a range of construction and play equipment to provide an alternative activity during Recess and Lunch. The online library catalogue is accessible from both home and school when students are searching for new book titles or need materials for research projects.

Each term students from a number of classes are able to access inquiry and information skill lessons from a qualified Teacher Librarian using both print and digital resources. All classes are able to have a weekly borrowing session and where possible take part in Book Talks and Book Tastings.

Throughout the school year, displays in the Resource Centre complement topics and themes taking place in the wider learning environment. These include such things as Harmony Day, Reconciliation Week, Chinese Cultural Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day plus the all-important Book Week, which takes place in Term 3 each year.

The Resource Centre is open before school from 8.30am and after school until 3.15pm. Students are also welcome to borrow during Recess and Lunch.
