Book Week

Book Week, an initiative of the Children’s Book Council of Australia, takes place in schools every year in mid to late August. It revolves around a theme to do with books and reading. At Trinity Gardens School Book Week involves various activities such as the traditional Book Week Parade, a special assembly, story-telling and visits from authors.

Book Week Parade & Special Friends Day

Special Friends Day is incorporated into the Book Week celebrations, when grandparents, friends and carers are invited to come to the school and enjoy the Book Week Parade and visit their student’s classrooms. This is always a great opportunity to be amazed at the differences to learning in the 21st century from their days at school! A book display is set up in the Resource Centre over Book Week and many families choose to purchase books to donate to the Resource Centre. We also have a morning tea that everyone is invited to attend in the Gym after the Parade.

Parade Day is a wonderful community event and a highlight on the TGS calendar.

In 2024 the Book Week Parade is on Wednesday 21 August (term 3, week 5) at 9am.
