Il Programma Italiana

The Italian programme at Trinity Gardens School is designed to engage and strengthen all students literacy, personal, social and cross cultural capabilities and is taught across the school from Reception to Year 6.

The Italian programme emphasises the importance of oral language as a foundation for reading and writing in Italian. The students move from rich and varied experiences of the spoken word to responding and creating a range of texts in a fun, challenging and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborative activities are designed to encourage and support active participation in Italian lessons. The playing of games and singing are instrumental in facilitating the independent use of the Italian language. The objective of the programme is to achieve as close as possible to native like fluency by the end of Year 6.
